Happy Easter. Another month has flown past. The shop will be closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday but will be open on Easter Saturday 9.30 til 4pm. So many new things are happening – it is a case of where to start ? The workshops continue to be successful with the Thimble- Houses with Dee Spence-Thomas being a very enjoyable session with lots of laughter coming down the stairs. Diana Wright’s Discovering Dissolvable was another full workshop with lots of lovely examples at the end of the day. There will be a part two later in the year as we found there was lots more to explore. The Crazy Patchwork class was a lovely day, I have been asked to run this workshop again and it may be in the Autumn schedule. Everybody created stunning pieces of work even with everyone starting with the same selection of fabric, the end results were all totally different. I have seen some of the work coming on in leaps and bounds since this class. If there is room in the next newsletter I will include some photos.

Ann Holdens Blanket workshop was a hand stitching day, so a very peaceful but productive day. Ann brought some lovey examples of her work using dyed blankets and some lovely Kits for the girls to choose for their project. Sandra Coleridges Taster Embellishing day was very successful, there were some beautiful pieces of work at the end of the day.(photos below) We have booked another one for later in the year if you could ‘nt make this one. It is filling fast already. Also there are a few spaces left on Sandra’s Velvet Cushion Workshop plus some spaces on Paint, Patch and Stitch with Gwen Hartley. |

I also have a new range of Moda Fabric arrived called Hubba Hubba, it is gourgous, lovely summery colours, beautiful for making quilts or clothes. I have also managed to get some more Moda Candy Oh So Sweet, also a new book full of ideas how to use them. They make ideal little presents . The Moda Scrap Bags were very popular, so have had another delivery, they contain a mixture of thirty to forty fabrics, all colour co-ordinated. The material is long strips about two and a half inches wide, some of them have selvedges, which can be incorporated into your work. they are very good value for money. |

My Idea of having workshops for young people is underway, with a lady called Yvonne Johnson. We need a name so if anyone has any ideas !! At the moment quite like “Youngbees” The workshops will be once a month on a Sunday. With the Easter Holidays upon us, why not give your grandchildren a treat – a day to learn how to use a sewing machine and make a project. The workshops are coming along very nicely with many diverse projects, involving lots of different people. They all seem to have enjoyed themselves if the laughter is anything to go by. If you are interested in coming to a workshop, please check both the Website and Facebook regularly to see what is new. In any event, please do not hesitate to phone me on 01404 549871 April 24th Velvet Cushion – Sandra Coleridge 25th Paint, Patch and Stitch – Gwen Hartley 27th Youngbees – Yvonne Johnson May 2nd Beginners Free Motion- Jean Bartlett 3rd Scrapbag Challenge – Llinos Spriggs 11th Youngbees – Yvonne Johnson Check the Website for more.
