Sorry to sound so authoritarian but I really do need the T&C’s to be super clear to avoid unpleasantness. For our general terms and conditions, please click here.
Full payment is required to secure bookings.
In the event of a cancellation payments are non-refundable, please refer to our detailed Cancellation Policy below”
When you have enrolled in a course you have committed to paying the total fee of that course.
Booking and immediate payment are recommended to avoid disappointment.
If you join one of our weekly, monthly classes, all classes must be paid for whether you attend or not, as we still have the tutors & rent to pay.
Should you miss any lessons in the six-week course of dressmaking only one missed class can be made up or brought forward. I have come to this decision because I feel it is unfair on the tutor and the students who are unable to make up missed classes.
No reductions or refunds are available for people who wish to start their course late or leave early.
Places are limited so do not leave it till the last minute to book – this may result in a course being cancelled.
Items made at our workshops are intended for personal use only and not for commercial use.
All bookings are subject to our Workshop terms and conditions.
Bookings can be paid for by:
- Requesting our bank transfer details via email
- Dropping into Thimblestitch to pay
- Telephone the shop on 01404 549871
- Via the website (Not available yet)
Please do carefully check your dates before going ahead with the payment.
Once your booking is complete you will receive an email confirmation from us.
A workshop requirement list will be emailed to you approximately one month before the class.
A waiting list will come into force when classes become fully booked.
If when you arrive the tutor is still setting up please give them space to finish.
Please try and arrive on time.
Respect your tutor and fellow classmates
Turn off your phone unless it’s an emergency. Let your tutor know that you are expecting a call.
Please park carefully with a view that others need to park too. Cars parked at owners’ risk.
For full-day workshops please bring a packed lunch with you. Our classes have a 30-minute break for lunch. Lashings of tea and coffee are provided.

Thimblestitch reserves the right to make small changes to the content of our workshops if the need arises. If the tutor is unable to attend we will let you know asap. We reserve the right to appoint another Tutor or postpone the class to a later date. If this date is not suitable a full refund will be made.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept liability for any other costs, expenses, or disappointment.
Cancellation by Student
We do not offer refunds on workshop bookings.
If you register for a class and later become unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, we are only able to offer you a refund IF your space is filled by another booking. If the space remains empty you will not be offered any remittance.
You are of course able to send a friend in your place. We will need their name and contact details prior to the workshop. Or we can try and fill your space from the waiting list but we will apply an administration charge of £10.
If you have to cancel a booking please let us know as soon as possible, there may be a waiting list.
Workshop fees do not include cancellation insurance. We recommend that you take out insurance in case you need to cancel your place due to unforeseen circumstances. Our refund policy applies in all circumstances:
Thimblestitch will not reimburse you for any travel or accommodation arrangements made, or materials you have bought,
14 day cooling-off period
Our refund policy applies in all circumstances: refunds will not be given unless Thimblestitch cancels the workshop, or you are within the fourteen-day cooling-off period.
A fourteen-day cooling-off period applies to all bookings made by individuals more than two weeks before the course start date. If you cancel your booking within fourteen days you will be entitled to a full refund of your fee or deposit (as per Consumer Protection regulations). For bookings made via the website, the first day is the day on which the booking form is submitted.
If you make a booking on a date less than fourteen days before the start date of the course your right to cancel ceases on the start date of the course.
I often take photographs of students working and their work for use on our promotional materials (website, Facebook, Instagram, and newsletter). If you do not wish your work to be featured please let us know at the start of your course.
If we use a photograph of you which you would later like removed, please contact us.
