Celebrating Four Seasons Day 2 – Kara Chambers

June 19 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

£40

Time to Stand Beneath the Boughs – Celebration the Four Seasons in Slow-Stitch – photos to follow.

Kara is offering a series of four workshops throughout the year to celebrate the four seasons, with the aim of encouraging you to “Stand and Stare”, raising your awareness of the cycles in Nature and through the art of slow-stitching becoming more in time with your own natural rhythms.

The slow stitch philosophy can be summed up in a single word: BALANCE.

Honoré explains, “Its about seeking to do everything at the right speed, savouring the hours and minutes…doing everything as well as possible, instead of as fast as possible”.

Each of the four workshops will start with a short explanation of the Celtic Year, which includes the history of the way each season is celebrated.

Through the application of slow-stitch techniques we will explore the development of mindfulness in our own lives, using collage and slow-stitch to create a textile piece, which depicts each season.

Through the series you will create four small pieces of textile art depicting the seasons, which can be separate or combined later into a wall-hanging, cushion cover or textile journal.

The workshops have been planned to follow on from each other and so you are encouraged to attend all four; however, a single workshop can be booked in order to start a seasonal slow-stitched fabric piece if there are spaces.

Four workshop dates – 6th March, 19th June, 18th September and 27th November.
