March 2014 Newsletter
Dear All
Welcome to a new season, Spring is just around the corner (or so they say?).
Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has given me so much support. I have been overwhelmed by the generosity and amount of interest that you have all shown both in the workshops and the shop.
The Workshops which have already taken place have been very successful and, judging by the amount of laughter coming down the stairs, they have all been very enjoyable. I am always itching to see what is going on up there, but the shop beckons!
The monthly Work in Progress Days (WIP’s) are continuing as usual and I do have a few places left on Saturdays. On these full day workshops you can work on a project of your own choice and I am on hand to help you develop your work and techniques with ideas and suggestions. The WIP’s run on a monthly basis and are bookable in advance. If you are interested in this type of workshop please let me know.
The Workshop list is filling up fast and new ones are being added all the time, Please check the website and Facebook regularly to see what’s new and for more details. If you see a workshop that you are interested in click “News” on the top bar to get a detailed description of the course, but please do not hesitate to phone me on 01404 549871 if you have any queries.

New deliveries are arriving all the time. I have just received from Moda “Grant Park” and “Floral Gatherings” in Layer Cakes, Jelly Rolls and 5” Charm packs.
Later this month Moda “Little Black Dress 2” is arriving and “Hubba Hubba” will be on the shelves.
Last week Juliet and I went to the trade show at the NEC and spent two days looking at new products and finding out about the new trends for the coming year, I was like a kid in a sweetie shop!. There were wonderful fabrics, threads, new haberdashery and other exciting things. The talk was all about crochet and of course, The Sewing Bee. I brought back some lovely Steff Francis threads which are on the counter and have ordered some exciting things to arrive during the year.
I have found a gorgeous, new-to-the-market range of fabrics – Lewis & Irene. Their first delivery will be hitting the shop towards the end of March, do come and have a look. Thimblestitch will be the only outlet in the area. These lovely new fabric ranges can also be used for dressmaking to wonderful effect.
The Britannia 200 sewing machine which I stock has proved so popular that the manufacturers are out of stock! If you are interested in buying one, you will need to put an order in soon to be sure that yours will be in the next delivery, because their launch has been so successful. I do have a demo model in the shop if you want to try it out.
Sandra Coleridge is making a good recovery from her recent operation and will be teaching at Thimblestitch at the end of March. She will be introducing the technique of “Embellishing”. She does have a few embellishing machines, which she will bring with her but you need to book one of these in advance if you don’t have your own.
The stock is constantly changing and growing. Much of this is in response to your suggestions and ideas. Please keep them coming. If you are waiting for me to contact you, I promise I will get round to it as soon as possible.
