January 2014 Newsletter

thimbleJN I can’t believe it! I am open at last. Both parts of my new business are up and running after months of work. Many thanks to all of you who have helped and encouraged me, particularly Pete, my partner who really has gone that extra mile. I could not have managed to get here without you all.

The workshop is already showing its qualities. It copes comfortably with between ten and fifteen students at a time. The lighting, the electric supply for machines, the spacious work surfaces AND the kitchen have all proved to be excellent.

I have managed to book some exciting workshop days with expert tutors,  starting with Llinos Spriggs on January 18th with some modern Goldwork. Later in the month on January 25th, Dee Spence-Thomas will run a workshop in Patchwork called “Foundation for Beginners”  which is also suitable for beginners.

I already have five groups working on various projects (for which there are a few vacancies)  and I am running a fur
ther mixture of tutorials and courses.

The first of these is “Boxy Bags” with the glorious Moda Mini-Charms – of which, by coincidence, I have a huge range on the shop counter!

In the shop itself, I am selling selections of quality fabrics, by Moda, Makower etc.

I have an area dedicated to embellishing materials (workshop coming soon!) and much, much, more, and a further area to relax and have a coffee and chat.
