Dressmaking 6 weeks – evening class – Katie Haywood

Katie trained in theatrical costume at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.  Since then she has worked for many different dance and circus companies as well as a work placement at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.  For the last 3 years Katie has mostly worked in the bridal industry and specialises in female tailoring.

A Little Doze of Sunshine – Karen Fanzo

Capture that great summer holiday feeling with this appliqué picture.  Using all those scraps you can’t bear to part with Karen builds a picture to grace your walls or as a gift.  Karen will have a several designs to choose from or build your own design. Kits containing everything needed for the picture are an additional £5.00.  One frame per person is also available as an optional purchase on the day for £4.00.

This course will take you through the basics of dressmaking.  You will be making wearable garments using printed patterns to cut out, piece and assemble and make an article of clothing of your choice.  Along the way, Karen will teach you the skills of inserting invisible zips, setting sleeves and making darts she will also show you the most appropriate seam techniques for the job

Quilting Inside the Box – Linda Campbell
